A Step-by-Step Guide to Layering Complexion Products

When it comes to creating a flawless complexion, it's all about that base—and we have all the tips on how to layer them like a pro thanks to our Artist Experts. Keep reading for a step-by-step guide on how to stack all of your complexion products for a finish that lasts. 

After prepping with your skincare favorites (Kakadu Beauty Oil, Super Serum Hydrating Mist, and Kakadu Luxe Cream), you’re ready to start applying your makeup. 

How to layer complexion makeup:

1. Sunscreen
2. Concealer
3. Foundation
4. Setting Powder

Step 1: Sunscreen

How to apply it: 

Step 3: Concealer

Next up is UnCoverup. “I always tackle my undereye area next with the UnCoverup Concealer because I find that once I brighten up under my eye, I already start to feel more put together,” says Lisa, one of our Artist Experts.

This pigmented powerhouse is available in 16 shades, brightening skin while concealing blemishes, dark circles, and redness. It’s noncomedogenic and won’t dry out or settle into pores. What’s more, you can build it up or sheer it out.

How to apply it: 

Joni says it’s imperative to warm UnCoverup before application and suggests swirling it 3–4 times with a brush and warming it on the back of the hand. She also mixes in a small amount of our nourishing Kakadu Beauty Oil for extra moisture.

Likewise, you can swirl your finger in the pot and warm it on the inside of your wrist before pressing and blending on the undereye area with your ring finger, or use our Skin2Skin Beauty Sponge (tip: dampen the sponge with water first). UnCoverup can also be applied to the corners of your nose and anywhere that needs brightening. 

Unsure of which shade to choose? We suggest using one shade lighter than ReEvolve Liquid Foundation. All the shades ending in .5 have a hint of peach which helps counteract blue undertones and dark undereye circles.

Step 4: Foundation

How to apply it:

I love using the foundation brush to get an even application and buff the foundation into the skin.”

You can also use your fingers or a damp Skin2Skin Beauty Sponge. Use one pump or more to reach desired coverage.

Step 5: Setting Powder
