A List of Holiday Classics with Team RMS

This holiday, we’re keeping it classic—because if you can’t be a little nostalgic during the holidays, when can you be? We like to think of our clean formulas as classics and tried and true essentials that you keep coming back to again and again, and that always make you feel like you—just like those quintessential seasonal classic movies, books, and more that get you in the festive spirit.

This holiday season we're tapping into the classic traditions of the past while setting an aspirational approach to the future. RMS is always rooted in classic style so to kick off the season of holiday magic, we asked our team to reflect on their versions of holiday classics to set the mood.

What comes to mind when you think of a classic holiday?

"Family time, faith, cookies, spiked hot chocolate, and a cozy fire!" - Rachel, Senior Digital Designer

"A massive Christmas tree lighting in the town square, sparkly lights, family meals, candles, any Hallmark movie, nativity scenes, bulky sweaters, anything Ralph Lauren holiday." - Lane, Associate Art Director

"When I think of a "classic" holiday, I picture Christmas with its festive decorations, family gatherings, and traditions like gift-giving and caroling. Thanksgiving also comes to mind, with its focus on gratitude, hearty meals, and the spirit of togetherness. Each of these holidays carries a rich history and unique customs that bring people together." - Elaine, Chief Strategic Officer

"Classic holiday and my slice of heaven is a log cabin in the snowy covered mountains with family and loved ones. Some of us decorating the tree while others are working on a puzzle, playing games cozied up by the fire. Finishing off the day with a big festive dinner that's been cooking all day." - Rebecca, Social & Content Director

"Family, sitting by the fireplace with a good book, cooking with family, decorating the Christmas tree, and lots of Christmas music on repeat." - Melissa, Senior Product Marketing Manager

What’s your favorite classic movie?

"Every December I count down the days until my family watches You've Got Mail. It isn't a traditional Christmas movie, but some of the scenes take place during the holidays and it's just such a warm and fuzzy romance that warms your heart." - Rachel

"It's a Wonderful Life, my dad's favorite holiday movie and we watch every year." - Kassidy, Social Media and Influencer Coordinator

Classic brands and businesses that have stood the test of time like Hermes, New York Times, Coca-Cola, and Katz Deli. Classic places that have always maintained their reputation like Charleston, NYC, LA, and Boston." - Rachel

"Effortless, no trends, classic staples, minimalistic, neutrals." - Alejandra

"Mine and my husband's grandmas, always so understated." - Kassidy

"Less is more. A good pair of Levi jeans and a classic white top." - Melissa

"Tinted sunscreen, a pop of blush, mascara, and a neutral lip" - Melissa

What's a classic holiday tradition you love?

"Pillsbury sugar cookie dough, cut with the same tree shaped cookie cutter we used when I was a little kid, green icing piped on in a zig-zag line, with mini M&M's placed along the icing line. We bake them on Christmas Eve for Santa's cookie plate. No deviations allowed!" - Rachel

"Anything with family. Personally, fancy dinner downtown and walking to the Charleston Place Hotel to look at the holiday train display." - Lane

"Sipping on hot cocoa or maybe some mulled wine by the fire with friends all dressed up for our annual white elephant Christmas party." - Rebecca
