Rose-Marie's Tips for Using The Complexion Heroes Routine
Achieving flawless skin can often present challenge, which is why having the perfect lineup of products on hand is essential. That’s why we introduced our Complexion Heroes Bundle, a specially curated selection of three essential products (foundation, setting powder, and a brush) handpicked by our founder and master makeup artist, Rose-Marie Swift. Neatly packed in a grab-and-go bag, this kit serves as the foundation (pun intended) of your daily makeup regimen, designed to streamline your beauty routine like never before.
Dive deeper into the details of this comprehensive routine to discover how each product works harmoniously together, accompanied by expert tips and tricks from Rose-Marie herself to help you achieve your desired look with ease.
What’s in the Complexion Heroes Bundle
“You asked for a talc-free setting powder with a slightly luminous glow, and I loved creating this for you by adding plant actives and wildcrafted oils. It keeps your skin looking hydrated and stays put all day without creasing or feeling heavy. The three shades add a slightly tinted sheer coverage but with a magical translucent glow that adds a youthfulness and diffusing effect—even just a touch of it on the skin is hypnotic, perfecting and also nourishing.” - Rose-Marie
ReEvolve Natural Finish Liquid Foundation
“This is my take on the perfect everyday go-to foundation that lasts all day so you can see your true beauty, not your foundation,” says Rose-Marie.
This high-performance formula is crafted with innovative ingredients like advanced Tightenyl™ (a natural retinol alternative), nourishing vegetable squalane, calming organic aloe, and our unique rms adaptogenic herbal blend, all packaged in an innovative, eco-friendly refillable container.
“As a makeup artist for many many years, I always want just one brush that I can grab and go in there and do touch ups and this is it. I wanted it to be soft, yet it had to be firm so it could work out imperfections that weren’t quite right," explains Rose-Marie. "It’s imitation goat hair, it’s very luxuriously soft. I love it for both foundation, and I also love it for powder.”
This do-it-all brush can be used for contour, highlighter, blush, or setting powder. Its unique shape and texture helps to deposit just the right amount of product to the face, while its flexible bristles make it easy to control and blend for a natural look. Because of the weight and shape of the bristles (not too light, not too round, and slightly firm), it’s helpful when it comes to achieving control and precision while feeling ultra lightweight on the skin
How to Curate Your Complexion Heroes Bundle
Designed to be customized, the Complexion Heroes Bundle allows you to choose your perfect shades of foundation and setting powder at checkout. New to RMS Beauty? Finding your dream foundation shade is the best place to start before you add the kit to cart.
First things first, let’s get rid of the guesswork. Head to our shade finder quiz, which will help you determine the perfect foundation shade for your skin tone. It’ll ask you questions about your skin’s tone, type, undertones, and more, to expertly choose the shade for you.
Still stumped? Our artists are always available to consult with you on your choice. Sign up for a video consultation or text and expert and we’ll figure out your match.
Then, choose your powder shade—there’s only three options, so this one’s easy. Choose between Sheer Light, Sheer Medium, and Sheer Deep, depending on your natural skin tone.
How to use the Complexion Heroes Bundle
Before you get started with your full routine, make sure your skin is prepped. After splashing water on your face and patting it dry to leave behind a damp feel, apply a touch of moisturizer or Kakadu Beauty Oil.
Rose-Marie advises that “a little goes a long way” with this iconic oil—so apply just a few drops. “It’s concentrated, so you don’t need much.”
Next, apply your ReEvolve Foundation. Dispense a single pump (again, a little goes a long way) onto the back of your hand, and pick up the foundation with your brush.
“Look at this precision, I can just get in there and just angle it. I’ll pop a little bit over my eye," explains Rose-Marie. "You’ll notice I don’t like to go on the actual lid because the more caked up stuff you have on the lid the more wrinkly they look.”
Then, set your foundation with the Hydra Setting Powder. Rose-Marie tells you how:
“Next, I’m going to grab my setting powder. I love this powder because it’s an ultra-fine, light-reflecting formula that has a silky texture that won’t cake or settle into fine lines. It’s the ultimate finishing touch for filter-like skin. I’m just going to apply it to areas that I want to set, or that might tend to build up oil throughout the day.”
To minimize shine, use the included cotton puff to press powder into skin, concentrating on the T-zone area for a natural, satin finish. For an overall blurred effect, apply using the Skin2Skin Everything Brush, patting the powder into the skin for precise application.
Powder Poof or Brush?
In creating our Hydra Setting Powder, Rose-Marie considered the poof applicator as the second most essential element, with ingredients being the top priority. While some may view the poof applicator as old school, Rose-Marie swears by its effectiveness. She believes that using a poof is the optimal way to apply setting powder on the skin for a well-set makeup look, long-lasting coverage, and precise application.
Unlike a powder brush, the poof provides a pressed effect that enhances makeup longevity. To control shine, utilize the cotton puff included to press the powder onto the skin, focusing on the T-zone for a natural, satin finish. For an all-over soft-focus effect, use the RMS Skin2Skin Everything Brush to pat the powder onto the skin for precise application.
Of course, once you’re done, stash your full routine in our exclusive, silicone bag. It’s the perfect way to keep your complexion essentials clean and compact, no matter where you go.
